Events
The Building Preservation Centre Toivo organises events for all ages around the year. The language of the events is Finnish.
Repair information events
The most important repair information events are the window mending courses that take place in Toivo in the springtime, and a repair information day held somewhere in Satakunta in September, as a part of the European Heritage Day programme. From October to April, a monthly presentation on renovation and restoration of old houses is given at Toivo, on a Wednesday. After the presentation there is time for questions and discussion.
Activities for all ages
On the Wednesday of the Midsummer week a traditional Förskottijuhannus (“Midsummer in Advance”) is organised, and it is open for all. The summer workshops for children start on the Thursday of the Midsummer week and then continue every Tuesday and Thursday until the end of July. The Korsman House is open during winter and autumn holidays, and there is always something fun to do in the garden then. There is also a Christmas programme for children.
Pori Day
On the weekend of the annual celebration of Pori Day in September the Building Heritage Museum Toivo and the Korsman House have their doors open for all from Friday to Sunday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Christmas Time
Before Christmas, on the eve of the first Advent, a traditional Christmas Market has taken place in the Toivo garden since 1997. On the third Advent the Korsman House gets ready for Christmas, and an annual children’s Christmas workshop is held in the Outbuilding and the Workshop.
